I always thought that car hire was expensive, especially from airports but I have recently been looking in to Gatwick airport car hire and have discovered that there are some deals to be had. I didn’t realise that you could book in advance online and it seems like by doing this you can sometimes get a discount. I also thought that it was generally dearer than it actually is. This is why I have been seriously wondering whether to try it and have been looking in to it in even more detail to find out more.
I think that after looking in to this, I may even hire the car for the full duration of my trip, rather than just to get me to and from the airport. I was going to use trains to take me everywhere, but having looked at the prices for those, I realise that they are not so cheap as I expected them to be. The buses are a lot cheaper but they are slow and do not seem to take the routes that I need to go. I am going to calculate how much the car will cost and then save up so that I can afford one when I am in London as I think that it will really add to the quality of my travelling during my trip. I like driving anyway, unlike many people, I find it relaxing and I really like to be in control and so find public transport very frustrating at times.

Gatwick Airport is miles away from the centre of London and, because of this, it is essential that you decide to hire a car. Let’s face it, at a busy airport like Gatwick, the chances of you being able to beat those competitive businessmen to the taxi ring are very small – more than likely you’ll run as fast as you can, making a bit of a fool of yourself and feeling silly as the taxi pulls away from you, there is no way that you have a chance of catching a taxi before they’ve all disappeared with someone else leaping in before. You’ll be left standing there with no adequate way of getting into London wondering why you didn’t just hire a car.
Hire a car and you no longer have to worry about being stranded at Gatwick Airport. Having booked online earlier in the month you can stroll into the car hire building and walk out a few minutes later with a car which you can then use throughout your stay in the capital. You can drive yourself into the city centre and still have a means of transport to get you around the city; whether that be to visit the sights or go to meetings. This is impossible if you are using the taxi services (not to mention the possible added costs if the driver realises that you aren’t from London and decides to take you the long way). Hire a car and all the potential problems are forgotten.
